Wood floors by HF Design are featured in the open floor plan in the main living, dining area and kitchen. Critical to the material selection was the implementation of a required sound barrier underlayment for this complete gut remodel. The previous travertine tile floors had cracked in areas throughout the years and this time around wide wood planks allowed for better compatibility with the underlayment. The wood flooring was one of the first materials selected upon which the color palette decisions were made, including wall colors and fixed materials such as tile and counter tops. The 9.5" wide planks work especially well in the open expanse of the floor plan.
